Otis 3 Step Cleaning:
Always ensure the firearm is unloaded, the magazine is removed, and the chamber is cleared before cleaning.
- 1. Wet Patch (Apply Solvent): Attach a slotted tip to the Memory-Flex cable, insert a patch, apply a solvent or CLP (Cleaner, Lubricant, Preservative), and pull it through the barrel from breech-to-muzzle to loosen fouling.
- 2. Bronze Brush (Scrub): Replace the patch with the correct-sized bronze bore brush on the cable, and pass it through the bore to remove carbon, copper, or lead residue.
- 3. Dry Patch (Dry): Run a clean, dry patch through the bore to remove the loosened residue and remaining solvent.
Repeat this process as needed until a patch comes out relatively clean.
